First Announcement

The First EGAN Workshop that will take place in Padova, Italy, on June 27-30, 2011.
As you may know, the European Gamma and Ancillary Detectors Network (EGAN) in the framework of ENSAR (FP7) is a network aimed at the mutual coordination between the research groups involved in high-resolution gamma-ray spectroscopy to optimize the use of the valuable resources at the different infrastructures and to enhance synergies among researchers on a broad European scale, to ensure the sharing, design, construction and maintenance of detectors and associated equipment in a coordinated approach.
The aim of the EGAN 2011 Workshop is to present the status of the gamma-spectroscopy research and to discuss its perspectives. Sessions will be dedicated to the presentation of recent theoretical studies, the last results obtained in the different experimental campaigns and gamma-ray facilities in Europe, and to the discussion on the future research, the experimental challenges and technical  developments within gamma-ray spectroscopy.
Financial support will be available under request for young researchers wishing to attend the Workshop.
Detailed information about the meeting will be provided in the first circular and on the workshop website soon.
You are kindly invited to put the dates in your diary and we hope to welcome you at the workshop. Please feel free to circulate this announcement to interested colleagues.
         Best regards,
