Task 2

Co-ordination on Ancillary Instrumentation

The coordination activity on ancillary devices is carried out by the assembly of specialized Working Groups (WG) to optimise the use of the available resources and to improve the performance and compatibility of new devices in the R&D phase.
The Institutions involved in this task are: KU-Leuven, U-Sofia, INRNE-BAS, CEA-DSM-DAPNIA, CSNSM, Orsay, IPN, Orsay, U-West Scotland, IPN, Lyon, GSI, U-Köln, ATOMKI, INFN-Padova, INFN-LNL, INFN-Milano, INFN-Napoli, U-Warsaw, IFJ-Pan, NIPNE, IFIC-Valencia, U-Huelva, U-Lund, U-Uppsala, U-Ankara, STFC-Daresbury, U-Liverpool, U-Manchester, U-Surrey.

This ensures the maximum compatibility and versatility, minimizing the impact of ancillary detectors on the performances of large Ge arrays. In particular, the coordination in the construction of new ancillary devices in this European framework will allow the integration of the data acquisition and electronics, the integration of the mechanics (mechanical design compatibility) and the collaboration on the Monte-Carlo simulations of the physics cases.
